Crest uses an all wood stile and rail system. Wood maintains a more constant temperature, never getting too hot or too cold, which allows the overall door temperature to remain stable. This directly correlates with the inside temperature of the house, if the door maintains a more constant temperature so will the inside of your home. Not only does the wood create a constant temperature, it also creates a strong connection for the hinge and lock-block. |

Mortising for the hinges.

All stile and rail pieces are laminated veneer lumber (lvl) products. Lvl is preferred over lumber because it is stronger, more durable, and weighs less then solid wood. Both the Alamo and Composite door have wood frames.
